💮I especially like this mini Silhouette collection, because it evokes nostalgia for Gran Turismo 2 (there was this DR30 Skyline in red and blue fantasy livery).
💮I really like the Bluebird with the Autobacs livery and body shape.
💮Silvia – it would be simply impossible to complete the collection without her=) But the lightning livery is also cool.
The Japanese Super Silhouettes of the early 80s were similar to the European Group 5. Probably the most famous championship of Gr.5 cars were DRM in Europe and IMSA in states.
Cars had 99% nothing to do with it’s production versions. And the technical regulations were very free. The top cars of Group 5 were not inferior to F1 of those times. One of the interesting limitations was the width of the rear wing. Notice how narrow it is compared to the overall body kit. Same thing you could see on Moby Dick and other Gr.5.
All three cars essentially had a common heart LZ20B turbo engine that produced around 550-600 hp. But they were not a winning machines such as late 935 Group 5 Porsches. Plus, or rather minus, the Japanese Silhouettes suffered from overheating during the development stage.
In 1/43 scale there is also an earlier Silhouette DR30 cars, maybe later they will arrive to the collection as well.
There are many Super Silhouette videos on YouTube, including Japanese documentaries. It is very interesting.
