#60 Subaru Leone 4WD RX 1983 — Fuji 1000km (Spark 1/43)

🇯🇵 Spark 1:43 #60 Subaru Leone 4WD RX 1983 “スコラチャレンジャースバル”

The first full-fledged all-wheel-drive circuit racing car in the history of motorsport is Subaru. Under the hood is a turbocharged boxer of the AE 1.8-liter series.

✨ In 1983, at the Fuji track, during the 1000 km race, the pilots were Kazuo Shimizu, Toru Itabashi, and Shiro Takaoka. (清水 和夫/板橋 徹/高岡 祥郎)

They finished quite far in 6th place in their class (B). However, it was the debut for the car. About a month later, the car arrived in 4th place at the Suzuka 1000 km race with number #14. 🤘

PS: The model is from Spark, and the packaging says it’s a 1000 km Suzuki, but it had this Leon #14. However, it’s actually a 1000 km Fuji. This is a historical oversight from such a cool manufacturer.
