Enveloped by the mundane bustle, I find it difficult to find a beginning for my words. Firstly, I had the pleasure of completing a small diorama from the new garage studio. However, this should be presented in a separate message. Secondly…
Back in the year 2000, a young man returned home to discover a gray rectangle resembling a HVS tape recorder. In a moment, the boundless world of Gran Turismo was opened up to him. Every visit to East, West, North, and South City was like reading an exciting chapter from a global encyclopaedia. In reality, an entire world was laid out before him, where dozens of cars appeared before the young man’s eyes, each with its unique appearance, like paintings created by different artists. Every race presented amazing opportunities for these works of automotive art, like an endless test drive. Amidst the boundless multitude, in the eyes of a little boy, among the monochrome cars as calm as the night and the colorful cars as vibrant as a New Year’s fireworks, there was one golden pearl, so familiar and yet so unusual in its form, like an inflated Caravan (Nissan). With the sound of a multi-cylinder rocket, he was carried away through kilometers of the world of Gran Turismo, through space and time…Years passed, cars and hobbies changed, but the image of the Espace never left the grown man’s mind.
Fascinated by collecting scale models, with ups and downs in interest, there was always a goal – a model of this magnificence. After five years of almost constant searching, my aspirations were exhausted, and hope of owning a 1/43 model began to fade, as it was produced so long ago and only in a quantity of 300 pieces. But fate, as if recognizing my dedication and persistence, decided to give me something incredible. The inevitable became a reality, and on that long-awaited day, when I first laid eyes on my new passion, my heart stopped with delight. The majestic lines of the body, the elegant luxury of every detail – all of it created an epic picture that now warms my soul.
However, it should be noted that as a collector, I understand well that this is only half of this “Espace” pair from Spark in a scale of 1/43. The second half, though somewhat less rare, still requires significant efforts to acquire.
How wonderful it is that in our day, two decades after the release of Gran Turismo 2, we had the opportunity to try out the Renault Espace F1 in the beautiful, like gifts of the Japanese sea, automotive simulator – Assetto Corsa. It is worth noting that the simulator offers two versions of this work of automotive art: a demonstration version and a track version, but that is already a completely different story.
