Hello there. Here we go with oldy goodie classic by Toyota, photoshoot in a studio.
The name Toyopet was made after WWII in 1947. It was a competition for a new name for new Toyota cars. That’s how Toyopet was born for a short period of time.
Crown was a cooler sister of Corona, more nice, more features, bigger price. This Toyopet Crown 1900 (RS31D) looks a lot like smaller version of an American classic or even Moskvich.
Well after coming to the US market, the Toyopet’s name became a joke in the local press, who called it a “toy pet”. Well, yeah, it sounds quite lot like it.
This 1/43 scale model is from the Japanese classic Cars magazine series. Manufacturer of the scale model is Hachete, i guess.
PS i like how Toyopet sounds. Only if there was no toxit journalists.
